AMI/Rowe Jukeboxes

Continental

This section contains 5 Tables covering 172 AMI/Rowe Jukeboxes and accessories from 1927 to 1989. The Jukebox Tables included are generally complete in covering all major models, though some "submodels" may be missing. AMI Submodels usually were a result of a different number of records/selections and the type of sound system (Mono/Stereo) or selection system (manual/electronic). The Remote Selector and Speaker Tables are as complete as could be made due to the limited availability of manufacturer's and published information. For easy navigation, you can click on the highlighted table name below:

If you are interested in the production figures for these models and the serial numbering you can visit "AMI/Rowe" Production Estimates

Definition of Table Headings

Model:
This is the "official" Model designation as indicated by the manufacturer. If no model designation was provided (as was the case with some early models)or it is unknown, a "N/A" is indicated. Model Designations can usually be found on a metal plate, along with the serial number on the back of the jukebox (or inside the case of a Wallbox). Many manufacturers place some "intelligence" in their Model Designations, AMI was no exception as indicated by some of the following "rules":
Year(s):
Indicates the "Model Year" the Jukebox was sold. In general, the Jukebox was available in the last few months of the prior year.
Name
The official jukebox name if applicable or common name(shown in "quotes")used by operators or collectors.
Speed(s)
The record speed played (i.e. 78 RPM, 45 RPM). When "(33)" is indicated (1961-1984) the option usually existed to play "little LP's" co-mixed with 45's. This feature may not be available on individual machine you have.
No. of Records / Selections
Two columns indicate how many records the jukebox holds and how many selections were available. Unlike many manufactures, AMI models could always play both sides of a record, so the ratio of Selections to Records is 2:1. For CD Jukeboxes, only the number of CD's is indicated since the number of selections per CD is variable.
Dimensions
Maximum Height, Width and Depth as indicated from AMI's specifications. All dimensions are in inches and represent the maximum dimensions.
Weight
The net weight of the Jukebox, in pounds is taken from AMI specifications. In some cases, only the crated weight was available, in those cases the weight shown was estimated by deducting about 50 Lbs for crating material.
